Ex-Brescia Sporting Director Gianluca Nani: “Inter Have Something Extra But Juventus Will Win The Serie A” | OneFootball

Former Brescia and West Ham United Sporting Director Gianluca Nani believes that Inter are in the Scudetto race but that it is Juventus who will come back from their difficult start to win Serie A.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the former executive gave the view that the Bianconeri have the squad and the style of play to recapture the Scudetto while the Nerazzurri are in the same group as AC Milan and Napoli.

This season’s Scudetto race looks to potentially be an open and competitive one, with perfect starters Napoli setting the pace and the Rossoneri only two points behind them.

Reigning champions Inter are seven points off the top after their defeat against Lazio over the weekend, while the Bianconeri have seemingly recovered from a poor start with four successive wins to bring themselves in contention at the top end of the table.

Nani believes that while there are a number of strong teams in Serie A, it is Juventus who will win the Scudetto after having their nine-season title run broken by the Nerazzurri last season.

“They are by right one of the candidates to get back on top. Their history, their coach, their staff tell us so. Juventus has the structure and players to be able to win.”

On the favourites for the Scudetto he stated, “The two Milan clubs, Napoli, and Juve have something more. However, I would not forget Atalanta who, like Juve, did not play very well at the start.”
