Bolton boss Keith Hill has backed new Wolves signing Luke Matheson to rise to the very top of the game.
Hill handed Matheson his Rochdale debut at the end of last season, when the defender was just 15.
Now 17, the right-back joined Wolves for an initial £1m in January before heading back to Spotland on loan.
“You have no questions as a manager when you work with Luke Matheson about where he’s going to end up,” Hill told www.wolvesbite.com.
“He’s going to end up at the very top.
“He wants to be the very best footballer that Luke Matheson can be and I think he believes he can go all the way.”
Matheson is set to join up with the Wolves squad in the summer and Hill, who believes the defender will become an international with England, is confident he will impress.
“The Wolves players will be surprised at how good he is,” his ex-boss insisted.
“His football compass is amazing. He knows where to be on the pitch, he’s got a hunger, but he’s humble and he has huge desire and determination.”
Matheson scored his first professional goal at Old Trafford in the EFL Cup this season and it’s clear big things are expected of him in the future.
