Pavard has now won his first ever trophy with Inter.

The Frenchman joined the Nerazzurri from Bayern Munich last summer. And he has gotten his hands on silverware with the club at the first opportunity.

Pavard and his teammates had to wait until late on in the match to secure the result.

The Nerazzurri pushed and pushed, particularly after Napoli went down to ten following a sending-off of striker GIovanni Simeone.

But Inter captain Lautaro Martinez broke through in the final minutes of the match.

The Nerazzurri managed to avoid having to go to penalties.

And Pavard has become a Supercoppa Italiana winner.

Benjamin Pavard “Extremely Happy” After Inter Supercoppa Triumph Vs Napoli

“I’m extremely happy,” Pavard said after the final against Napoli. “Because I came here to win trophies.”

“And I’m also very happy with the way that we played.”

“There are too many emotions. I’m very happy that we reached our goal here. Now it’s time for us to focus on the Scudetto.”

And Pavard also gave his thoughts on what it meant to celebrate in front of the Nerazzurri fans from the Curva Nord group who had travelled to Saudi Arabia for the final against Napoli.

“It was beautiful to see them,” the defender said.

“There were a lot of them, and this victory belongs to them as well.”

And Pavard also gave his thoughts on playing in a back three in the Nerazzurri’s 3-5-2 system.

“I really like playing in the back three defense,” the former Bayern defender said.

“I manage to bring my previous experiences to it,” he added. “Including with the French national team.”
