Former Barcelona star Thierry Henry was not shy in admitting his frustration with the actions of two members of the club’s squad, on the back of their exit from the Champions League on Tuesday.

Xavi’s troops were of course sent packing from Europe in comprehensive fashion late last night.

As much came by way of a 4-1 drubbing at the hands of French champions Paris Saint-Germain, in Catalunya’s capital.

The fallout from the result has since been a heavy one for Barcelona, with fans, pundits and the media alike having all made clear their disappointment with the exploits put forth by the Blaugrana in their biggest outing of the season.

One such individual to have been left bemused by the actions of two members of Xavi’s squad in particular, meanwhile, was the aforementioned Thierry Henry.

Speaking as part of his punditry role for CBS Sports, ex-frontman Henry targeted defensive pair Ronald Araújo and João Cancelo – the former for his red card, and latter for giving away a 2nd-half penalty.

On Araújo’s dismissal, the one-time Blaugrana star began:

“Do not dive in like that and make the decision for the referee. You know if you’re going to make it or if you’re not going to make it.

“Let him go and hope that you’re goalkeeper’s going to save it. Don’t let the referee have the power to make – what Xavi calls – a mistake.”

Turning attentions towards Cancelo, Henry continued:

“If he looks at this tonight, he will go, “why did I tackle”.

“I can understand if Dembélé was right in front of the goal and you think he is going to shoot – you dive in. He is in the corner of the box!

“Even if he wasn’t caught and it went to VAR, VAR would have seen leg before ball, so you don’t even have to tackle that one, just stand your ground, go with him and stand your ground.”
