Vilajoana told Marca: "I always meet challenges when the opportunity presents itself. The illusion and desire to be president has an evolution, it does not arise overnight. Throughout this evolution, you think that the moment has come, something of five or six years. But in the last year, I think that having participated in previous meetings is an experience."

On Lionel Messi, he said: "Messi is and will be the best player in the history of football. The first thing I will do is sit with him, listen to him and, depending on what he says, make a proposal. I think that before saying what I would do, it is important to know the matter first hand."

Vilajoana added: "The first thing I would do would be to open the windows, let fresh air come in. Then I would go to work."
