Former Arsenal star Jack Wilshere says he had other offers before signing for Aarhus on Sunday.
Wilshere joined AGF as a free agent after leaving Bournemouth last summer.
"There had been some clubs where there has been dialogue. It has been in England and Europe. But to be honest, none of the clubs I felt were right for me. However, the talks with AGF felt like the right thing to do," he said.
"I can not say what it is, but it felt right. I've talked to my family and to a few people at Arsenal, and when you get that unique feeling, you have to follow it, and I have done that with AGF.
"If you had asked me five or ten years ago if I would have played in Denmark, I would have said no. But now I'm here and I'm looking forward to the challenge and excited about it all.
"I previously would not have thought that I would end up in Denmark, but with what has happened in my career, I have now ended up here. It always happens in football,.
"I would never have come here if I did not have a belief that I could do it and that my body was ready."
