‘Everything indicates’ – Xavi in Barcelona future U-turn | OneFootball

A major update on the future of Barcelona head coach Xavi has come to the fore on Sunday evening.

The info comes courtesy of Barcelona insider Gerard Romero of Jijantes, who points towards the club’s boss, despite insistent claims to the contrary, being set to stay put.

Xavi, of course, announced his intention to step down from his post upon the season’s close back in January.

In the midst of a dire run of form, and with pressure mounting, the Spaniard assured that the decision was the best one for Barca as a club moving forward.

And yet, in the weeks and months since, the powers that be in Catalunya’s capital have been absolutely unwavering in their stance that, in the eyes of the club, Xavi remains the man for the job.

Joan Laporta and Rafa Yuste have in turn long been hard at work in efforts to convince the Blaugrana’s beloved former midfielder to change his mind.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Sunday is anything to go by, it would appear that they may have managed precisely that.

As per the aforementioned Gerard Romero, speaking on his official Twitch platform ahead of kick-off in El Clásico:

“Right now everything indicates that Xavi will continue at Barcelona next season.”
