Although they suffered a heartbreak in the UEFA Champions League, there is no doubt FC Barcelona have had an incredible 2024-25 season. The Blaugranes have already won the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey, and are now on course to winning the La Liga title as well.
The whole Catalan team deserves credit for these achievements, and most of the players have actually seen their performances recognised by spectators and commentators throughout the world.
This has been particularly the case with the two forwards, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, who have simply been incredible this season.
Still, even though he does not get a lot of goals and the spotlight, Pedri has been the most important player for Hansi Flick this season, as he has not only provided the team with his creativity and technicality, but has also contributed a lot to the defence as well.
The Canarian’s performances have been so good that one of his former rivals, Toni Kroos, also recognised him as the best player in his position recently.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spaniard has received similar praise from another very prominent personality in European football, the former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
Talking after Barcelona’s elimination from the UCL, Wenger expressed his admiration for the Blaugrana midfielder:
“Right now we’re only talking about Yamal, but I would highlight Pedri… For me, Pedri is absolutely incredible. I get down on my knees.”
Arsene Wenger went on to heap even more praise on the midfielder:
“The science of midfield is in Pedri’s legs and brain, and everything he does is incredible.”
These are big words from the French manager, but one cannot really argue against him. Pedri has polished his game in all aspects and has been a much more complete midfielder this season. With the season he has had, his importance in the team is expected to increase further next season.
