Article image:Every USMNT Player in Europe's Top 5 Leagues

The likes of Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie have enjoyed terrific seasons in the Italian Serie A with their respective AC Milan and Juventus to propel their clubs to Champions League action for the upcoming season.

However, several other USA internationals have found life to be pretty tricky in Europe with minutes hard to come by at teams from Germany to England.

Here's how all the current USMNT players have performed thus far in Europe's top five leagues.

USMNT players in the Premier League

1. Bournemouth - Tyler Adams

It's been a year to forget for Tyler Adams in the Premier League, as the midfielder has played just 109 minutes due to back-to-back aggravating hamstring injuries in the past eight months. The former Leeds United player has managed just three appearances for Bournemouth since joining last summer. When Adams is fully fit for the upcoming campaign, Bournemouth could be a dark horse to make a run at a UEFA Conference or Europa League spot.

2. Fulham - Tim Ream, Antonee Robinson

Although Fulham sit in 13th place in the Premier League table, Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson have more than played their part in keeping the team afloat and away from a potential relegation. The veteran Ream marshaled the backline in the early parts of the season but has seen his minutes decrease in the back-end of the term. However, Robinson has continued to improve in Marco Silva's side and has generated interest from English giants Liverpool as he's logged six assists in 34 appearances as a defender.

3. Nottingham Forest - Gio Reyna, Matt Turner

Nottingham Forest currently sit just one point above 18th-placed Luton Town and could very well drop back down to the EFL Championship after staying up last term. Matt Turner hasn't had the best of seasons with just two clean sheet kept and 28 goals conceded in 17 appearances, while the young Gio Reyna has logged just one start in nine appearances since joining on loan from German giants Borussia Dortmund.

4. Crystal Palace - Chris Richards

Continuing the theme of USMNT defenders in England, Chris Richards' stock continues to rise with each game played at Crystal Palace. Although Palace have endured a challenging season, things are looking up under new boss Oliver Glasner -- and Richards will hope to be at the center of the former Eintracht Frankurt head coach's project.

5. Sheffield United - Auston Trusty

Sheffield United's relegation has already been confirmed with just 16 points from 35 games played, but don't let that distract you from the hidden gem that is Auston Trusty. With a mass exodus of players from Sheffield likely, Trusty could prove to be a quality back-up given his experience in both the Premier League and Championship.

USMNT players in the Bundesliga

6. Union Berlin - Brenden Aaronson

Brenden Aaronson hoped to hit the ground running upon arriving at Leeds United in July 2022 from Austrian outfit RB Salzburg, but his one goal in 42 appearances saw the versatile forward seek out a loan to the Bundesliga with Union Berlin. The former Philadelphia Union figure hasn't really found his footing in Germany, netting two goals in 27 appearances as Union fight for Bundesliga survival.

7. TSG Hoffenheim - John Brooks

Perhaps one of the more underrated USMNT defenders is playing his trade week in and week out for TSG Hoffenheim. John Brooks -- who scored that iconic header at the 2014 World Cup against Ghana -- hasn't started every single game, but he's pitched in with two goals as a center-back and helped Hoffenheim steer clear of relegation and climb back into the top 10 of the German first division.

8. Eintracht Frankfurt - Timothy Chandler

Timothy Chandler is in the twilight of his career, and that means he hasn't seen much game time for Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2023/24 campaign. Chandler -- who's suited up 195 times for the German side -- has played just 16 minutes this term and recorded one assist and could seek a move elsewhere this summer with just one year left on his contract.

9. Heidenheim - Lennard Maloney

Heidenheim have enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Bundesliga as they currently sit in 10th place ahead of the likes of Wolfsburg and Borussia Monchengladbach. Former Borussia Dortmund 2 player Lennard Maloney has helped anchor the midfield, playing just about every week to help keep Heidenheim up and far away from relegation.

10. Wolfsburg - Kevin Paredes

Though Wolfsburg have underachieved this season as they're flirting with relegation to the 2. Bundesliga, 20-year-old Kevin Paredes has continued his development since arriving in January 2022 from MLS outfit DC United. While the goal output is probably not where he'd like it to be, he's shown flashes here and there of a winger that can wreak havoc on Bundesliga backlines.

11. Borussia Monchengladbach - Jordan Pefok, Joe Scally

Like Wolfsburg, Borussia Monchengladbach have also endured a difficult season are just four points clear of the relegation zone. However, USMNT duo Jordan Pefok and Joe Scally have proven their worth to Gladbach. Pefok has netted five goals and three assist in 24 appearances before he returns to Union this summer, while Scally has registered one goal and three assists as hears an impressive 100th appearance for the club despite being just 21-years-old.

USMNT players in La Liga

12. Real Betis - Johnny Cardoso

Real Betis continue to push for a European spot for the 2024/25 season as they sit just two points behind Real Sociedad in the La Liga table. Johnny Cardoso has played just under 1,000 minutes this term but has proved to be a reliable option when called upon with one goal and two assists in 12 appearances from the middle of the park.

13. Celta Vigo - Luca de la Torre

Like Cardoso, Luca de la Torre is another USMNT midfielder playing his trade in the Spanish first division. Celta Vigo currently sit five points clear of the relegation zone in La Liga, and they might look to lean on de la Torre in the final stretch of games to help avoid relegation.

USMNT players in Serie A

14. Juventus - Weston McKennie, Tim Weah

Moving on over to Italy, Weston McKennie has enjoyed one of the best seasons for a US midfielder with his impressive seven assist for the Old Lady. The former Schalke 04 player has proven to be reliable with over 2,400 minutes played this season and has helped the Italian giants secure Champions League play despite the club being docked points for financial breaches. Tim Weah joined Juventus over the summer and it's taken him a while to get used to the style of the Serie A, but the Italian outfit will hope that he'll find his form in the coming seasons at wing-back.

15. AC Milan - Yunus Musah, Christian Pulisic

Leaving the crowded dressing room at Stamford Bridge for the San Siro with AC Milan just might've been the smartest move in Christian Pulisic's career. The Hershey, Pennsylvania native has amassed 10 goals and six assists in the Serie A despite the team coming up short in their league title aspirations. Yunus Musah has been in-and-out of the side in the second half of the season and has added two assists in 28 appearances.

USMNT players in Ligue 1

16. AS Monaco - Folarin Balogun

AS Monaco are so close to reaching Champions League qualification and former Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun has played his part to propel the team to second place in the Ligue 1 standings. Balogun -- who was on loan last season in France with Reims when he scored 22 goals -- has slowly found his form with seven goals and four assists in league action and will hope to build on those numbers next term.

17. Le Havre - Emmanuel Sabbi

Another underrated USMNT player is Emmanuel Sabbi, a left-winger who's notched five goals and one assist in 27 appearances for Le Havre in France. Although Le Havre are level on points with 16th-placed Metz, as of right now they're ahead on goal difference and will look to widen the gap between them and relegation with the help of Sabbi in the final games of the season.
