Highlights

  1. Stoke City are open to offers for three first team players: Lewis Baker, Ben Pearson, and Daniel Johnson.
  2. The club is willing to listen to offers ranging from £1 million to £2 million for Baker, £3 million to £4 million for Pearson, and under £1 million for Johnson.
  3. While Pearson and Johnson have seen reduced playing time under new manager Steven Schumacher, Baker may have a chance to regain his place in the squad after being given a start in the recent match against Ipswich.

Stoke City have had a poor season so far.

They started the season with Alex Neil in charge, before he was sacked in early December after going six games without a win.

He was then replaced by Steven Schumacher nine days later, who left fellow Championship side Plymouth Argyle to somewhat controversially make the move to the Bet365 stadium.

In a bid to push themselves higher up the table, Schumacher has already brought in two players on loan, in Daniel Iversen from Leicester City and Liam Cundle from Wolves.

However, there have been rumours about some players leaving in order to raise funds for more incomings. Stoke already had ten players leave on permanent deals in the summer, and it appears new boss Schumacher may want to add a few more players to that list.

Here we take a look at every player that could realistically depart Stoke City by the end of the January transfer window.

Lewis Baker

According to TeamTalk, Stoke are willing to listen to offers for three of their first team players - one of them being Lewis Baker.

It is said that they are willing to listen to offers of between £1 million and £2 million.

He is contracted to the Bet365 until the summer of 2025.

It is said that due to recent performances, he could still stay at Stoke, but that depends on the club’s other business in the window.

After spending the first few months of the campaign injured, Schumacher gave him his first start of the season against Ipswich on New Year’s Day, so there still may be a way back into Schumacher's plans for Baker.

According to TeamTalk, another one of the players they are open to offers for is Ben Pearson.

They are willing to listen to offers from around £3 million to £4 million, as he only joined the club on a permanent deal in the summer, and his contract is set to run for another three-and-a-half years.

Pearson is Stoke’s only out-and-out defensive midfielder, so it may come as a surprise they want to offload him due to him possessing different abilities compared to the rest of the squad.

He has made over 20 appearances in the Championship this season, being a regular under Alex Neil, but has featured a lot less so far under Schumacher.

Daniel Johnson

The final player that TeamTalk claim Stoke are willing to offload in this January window is Daniel Johnson.

It is claimed that they would be willing to listen to offers for under £1 million.

His contract is set to expire in 2025 and Stoke are said to want to cash in before letting him walk on a free.

Johnson has made over 20 appearances in the league so far this season as he was a regular under Neil, with the former boss having previously worked with him at Preston North End. Like Pearson, after plenty of playing time under Neil, he has rarely featured so far in the Championship under Schumacher.
