Every Premier League club's best signing of the 2024 summer transfer window so far | OneFootball

As expected, Premier League clubs have been very, very busy during the 2024 summer transfer window.

The top teams have been busy adding players they hope will help them challenge Manchester City, while at the other end the relegation candidates have made signings in the hopes of staying in the division for another season.

Here's each of the Premier League club's best signing of the window so far..

AFC Bournemouth - Dean Huijsen

The latest addition to Bournemouth's exciting young defence is perhaps the most exciting young defender of the lot: Dean Huijsen.

The 19-year-old was thoroughly impressive during a loan spell at AS Roma at the tail end of last season, and Bournemouth will no doubt be looking forward to seeing him bomb forward with the ball at the Vitality Stadium in 2024/25.

Arsenal - Riccardo Calafiori

Arsenal's only major acquisition so far, Riccardo Calafiori is a huge upgrade at left-back for the Gunners heading into the 2024/25 campaign.

Expect him to bring his Euros form to the Premier League.

Aston Villa - Amadou Onana

The £50m replacement for star midifelder Douglas Luiz, and by all accounts quite a good one at that.

While not as technically gifted as Luiz, Amadou Onana is certainly a huge physical presence in the middle of park and will be vital for Unai Emery moving forward.

Brentford - Igor Thiago

To say the very least, the fact the club's record signing almost immediately suffered a serious knee injury and is out of action until 2025 as a result isn't ideal.

When he returns, if his impressive performances with Club Brugge are anything to go by, the 23-year-old should be a decent acquisition for Brentford.

Brighton & Hove Albion - Mats Wieffer

Brighton have been notoriously clever in the transfer window in recent years, and by all accounts the signing of Mats Wieffer looks like yet another shrewd move.

The former Feyenoord midfielder looks set to be the ideal replacement for Moises Caicedo - a player the club struggled without during the 2023/24 season.

Chelsea - Marc Guiu

As expected, Chelsea have done a lot of business this summer.

And while none of it is particularly eye-catching, the signing of Marc Guiu for just £5m looks like a very clever bit of business.

The club were in dire need of some quality depth up front, and in the 18-year-old that's exactly what they've got.

Crystal Palace - Daichi Kamada

Palace proved to be the benefactors of Daichi Kamada's rather dramatic fallout with Lazio, swooping to sign the wide midfielder on a free.

Having previously played the best football of his career under Oliver Glasner, Kamada looks set to impress at Selhurst Park.

Everton - Jake O'Brien

From Cork City, Crystal Palace, to Oympique Lyonnais and now on to Everton.

Jake O'Brien's career path thus far has been a surprising one to say the least.

The 23-year-old now looks to be in the perfect place for him to hone his already impressive defensive talents. Working under Sean Dyche will be a huge benefit to his progression.

Fulham - Ryan Sessegnon

Ryan Sessegnon's return to Fulham is one of the real feel good signings of the 2024 summer transfer window.

Having burst onto the scene at Fulham eight years ago, if Sessegnon can stay fit he can have an impact at Craven Cottage once again.

Ipswich Town - Omari Hutchinson

After bagging 15 goal contributions on loan during their promotion-winning season, Ipswich Town simply had to make Omari Hutchinson's move permanent. And they did exactly that.

The club record signing will be vital to their survival hopes.

Leicester City - Caleb Okoli

If you've played Football Manager 2024, chances are you've signed Caleb Okoli more than once.

The Italian defender is signed a five-year deal at Leicester City after impressing while on loan from Atalanta to Frosinone last season.

Liverpool - N/A

Yep, Liverpool are the only team in the Premier League who haven't made a single signing yet.

Not ideal.

Man City - Savio

Did Man City sign Savio this summer, or did they effectively sign him in 2022 when he joined fellow City Football Group-owned club Troyes?

Honestly, we're not really sure.

What we are sure of though, is the fact that Man City have quite the player on their hands. The 20-year-old is a fantastic young talent.

Man Utd - Joshua Zirkzee

Manchester United have pulled off two very impressive pieces of business so far this summer in securing Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee.

Due to Yoro's injury - which'll rule him out for the first two months of the season - we're giving Zirkzee the nod as the best signing they've made in the current transfer window.

The talented false nine will provide some much needed creativity to Man Utd's forward line.

Newcastle United - Lewis Hall

Newcastle's obligation to buy young full-back Lewis Hall from Chelsea was triggered at the end of the 2023/24 season, and considering his promising performances for the club we doubt they're too miffed about it.

Nottingham Forest - Nikola Milenkovic

Nikola Milenkovic is a central defender who was consistently linked with some of the top clubs in the Premier League (Liverpool, Man Utd, etc.) has somehow ended up at Nottingham Forest.

The 26-year-old was snapped up for just £12m this summer, and while there are question marks over why he's not improved his game much in recent years, the towering defender will certainly be an important addition to Forest's backline this season.

Southampton - Ben Brereton Diaz

Newly-promoted Southampton's biggest, and best, signing of the summer so far has been Ben Brereton Diaz.

The Chile international proved that he could score goals in the Premier League during his loan spell at Sheffield United in the second half of last season - netting six in 14 games. Expect him to score few more for the Saints in 2024/25.

Tottenham Hotspur - Archie Gray

Although Tottenham have yet to sign a new star attacking player this summer - much to the chagrin of their supporters - they have at least signed one of the most exciting young talents in the English game.

As seen in his first season of senior football with Leeds in 2023/24, the sky is the limit for Archie Gray.

West Ham United - Max Kilman

West Ham have been linked with a lot of players this summer.

One of the few they've managed to sign is defender Max Kilman.

The ex-Wolves man is a much-needed defensive signing, with West Ham relying on a few too many veterans at the back last season.

Yes, of course he's Portuguese.

The 20-year-old is an exciting prospect though, having bagged 14 goal contributions at Estoril before joining Wolves.
