Everton will wait until the New Year before considering new contract talks with director of football Marcel Brands.

The 58-year-old's three-year contract, which he signed when joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2018, runs out in summer, reports the Liverpool Echo.

It is understood that Everton would usually wait until the New Year before discussing the futures of senior executives and this is expected, at this stage, to be the case with Brands.

Everton are believed to value the work done by the Dutchman - who is also on the board of directors - since his arrival and the continuity the director of football model can offer.

Brands' role as director of football also extends to the club's Academy and recruitment and scouting system, all of which he has started to revamp since his appointment.
