Everton and Ipswich Town go head-to-head in the Premier League on Saturday, 3rd May, at 3pm (UK time).

Everton saw themselves secure Premier League safety thanks to the return of David Moyes whilst Ipswich have found their return to the Premier League end in despair with the relegation back to the Championship now confirmed.

One home goal exactly (15/4 with Bet365)

Everton have scored exactly one goal in five of their last seven matches, failing to score in the other two. In fact, Everton have a perfectly round record when it comes to goals this season, scoring 34 goals in 34 games. That total is the fourth lowest in the league, with only the three relegated sides scoring less than the Toffees this season, highlighting their tepid nature in front of goal.

Red card in match (11/4 with Bet365)

Only Arsenal (5) have seen more red cards in the Premier League this season than Ipswich Town (4), with Everton also receiving two. This could be a fiery encounter with Ipswich knowing already that their relegation to the Championship is confirmed and the tackles could go flying in as the Tractor Boys come to terms with their fate. This is also the second last game to be played at Goodison Park and Everton should have plenty of motivation, which could see things boil over.

How both teams go into Everton vs Ipswich Town

Emotions are sure to be high, with this the penultimate game at Goodison Park. David Moyes has long since guided Everton to safety, with the Toffees now holding faint hopes of finishing even higher in mid-table, though 13th is their most realistic target. The Toffees have been draw experts this season, with their 14 stalemates the highest in the Premier League. However, they beat Ipswich 2-0 away earlier this season and will be confident of beating the Tractor Boys again here.

Everton did enjoy a good run of form immediately following David Moyes’ return to the club but that new manager bounce is well and truly over with the Toffees picking up just four points from their last five games. They’ll be thankful that their Premier League safety is already confirmed with their form seeing them lose ground on the likes of Wolves and Brentford above them in the table.

Kieran McKenna’s side have just four wins and 21 points to their name after 34 matches and their chances of the great escape are now over. Their 3-0 loss to Newcastle last weekend sealed their fate and saw them relegated back to the Championship after just one season in the top flight.

Their recent form has been a big problem, with just one win, a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth, in their last 15 games. That run has seen them pick up just six points and that’s been enough to rule them out of playing Premier League football agains next season. They’ll hope to end the season on a high but with tough matches against Brentford and West Ham to come it could be a disappointing campaign back in the top flight for the Tractor Boys.

Everton team news

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to be fit enough to return for this match, while Jesper Lindstrom and Orel Mangala’s seasons — and possibly their spells at Everton — are over. Captain James Tarkowski came off with a hamstring injury against Man City, with his status unclear.

Ipswich Town team news

Leif Davis was sent off against Arsenal and will miss this match due to suspension, while the likes of Jaden Philogene and Chiedozie Ogbene are unlikely to feature. However, Arijanet Muric and Omari Hutchinson could return to action.

Everton vs Ipswich Town head-to-head

Everton beat Ipswich 2-0 earlier this season. However, the Tractor Boys won 2-1 on their last previous visit to Goodison Park way back in February 2002, just a month before David Moyes arrived for his first spell in charge of Everton.
