Daily Star journalist Paul Brown believes that Richarlison is one of the only players that Everton can make a big profit on at the moment.

The Brazilian forward has been on Merseyside for the last three years after joining from Watford for £40m.

What's the latest news on Richarlison?

Richarlison is currently sidelined with a knee injury which has kept him out of his team's last three top-flight matches.

.

He was linked with a transfer to French giants PSG in the final days of the transfer window, but this move failed to materialise, meaning that he remains on Everton's books for now, with his contract set to expire in 2024.

What has Brown said about Richarlison?

PSG's interest in Richarlison over the summer suggested that major clubs are monitoring the 24-year-old, and that Everton could get a sizeable fee for him if they decide to cash in.

Brown has hinted that the club may look to sell their prized asset in the future if they need the money to reinvest in the rest of their squad.

Giving this thoughts on Richarlison to GIVEMESPORT, Brown said: “He’s done very well for Everton. He’s a key part of their team, but everyone at Everton knows that he’s one of their only sellable assets. So, at some point, there’s going to come a time when they have to make a difficult decision on him.

“Because, if they still have to reduce the wage bill and they can’t sign players without bringing money in next summer, somebody is going to have to go. And when you look at the squad, Richarlison, maybe Lucas Digne, there aren’t too many names there where you’re going to realise a big profit.”

Should Everton sell Richarlison?

As Brown alluded to, Richarlison has done a fine job for Everton since 2018, scoring 43 goals in 123 matches. These are impressive numbers for a player who has operated as a winger as well as a centre forward.

However, by next summer, he will have just two years left on his contract, and that could be a good time to move the £90,000-a-week player on.

Did Dominic Calvert-Lewin score on his Premier League debut for Everton?

Yes No

PSG were reportedly willing to pay £77.3m for him in August if they'd sold Kylian Mbappe, which would have been almost double the price that Everton spent on Richarlison. This gives an insight into the kind of money they could get for him.

Furthermore, the attacker has not looked completely happy in his last few appearances for Everton, failing to find the back of the net since that win over Southampton nearly two months ago.

Therefore, allowing him to leave at the end of the season may be best for both parties, as Richarlison can go and enjoy his football elsewhere, while Everton can get a significant transfer fee for him.
