Everton have been tipped to see off Fiorentna’s attempt to hijack Belgian midfielder Orel Mangala’s switch to the Toffees.
The Goodison Park outfit have been keen on making additions before the transfer window closes on Friday night to back Sean Dyche.
They have a deal in place with French giants Lyon for their midfielder but Serie A side Fiorentina are also chasing him.
It has been suggested earlier today that the Italian side are trying to hijack the Everton-bound midfielder’s move.
However, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Toffees are still expected to secure Mangala despite Fiorentina’s persistence.
The Belgian international was reportedly giving preference to Fiorentina but his medical in England is already scheduled for today.
Mangala has played close to 50 times in the Premier League before with Nottingham Forest and he could be back again.
Everton will be hoping to avoid any late scares in their path to secure Mangala from Lyon on a loan deal.
