Everton striker Richalison believes Edinson Cavani could have broken his ankle after the striker was sent off in Uruguay's 2-0 loss to Brazil.

But he insists he bares no ill-will towards his Manchester United counterpart.

The Selecao claimed victory in their World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night, with the Toffees hitman heading home the second, after Arthur opened the scoring in the first half.

As La Celeste chased the game, Cavani, 33, was dismissed by referee Roberto Tobar following a clumsy challenge.

Richarlison said, “I think it was a ball dispute, he went over the top.

“If my foot was stuck it might have even broken my ankle, but I think it wasn't bad.

“He tried to steal the ball and ended up missing."
