Everton fans are anxiously waiting for the takeover to go through quickly as the club stands on the brink of a new era.

The Friedkin Group have purchased 94 percent of Farhad Moshiri’s shares and are waiting for the green light to complete the Everton takeover process.

The Toffees have badly struggled in the past few years, and the takeover is seen as a major ray of hope for the club to move in a fresh direction.

Journalist Alan Myers has suggested on social media platform X that the formal takeover should be completed around the middle of December.

A source close to the Friedkin Group recently told the Liverpool Echo that ‘everything is going fine at the moment with no cause for concern’.

The issue with the A-Cap and 777 Partners

The American owners initially backed out after learning about the troubles with the A-Cap business firm and 777 Partners’ dealings with Everton.

The Toffees borrowed around £200 million in loans from 777, who were looking to buy the club last year.

While the deal collapsed with 777 in the end as they kept on failing to meet Moshiri’s deadlines for payment, the loans remained on Everton’s balance sheet.

The 777 is on the brink of liquidation, and its debt position has now been assumed by one of its biggest creditors, the insurer A-Cap.

They are the subject of various legal proceedings in the US, and a fraud suit was recently brought to the New York court by the British investment group Leadenhall Capital Partners.

Myers has delivered an exciting update

The Sky Sports journalist wrote on X that the ongoing A-Cap court issues will not affect the Everton takeover process in any way.

Kevin Thelwell, the club’s director of football, is excited about the potential change that is about to happen at the club.

The Toffees will move to a new stadium next season, and Thelwell is hopeful that the new owners will invest money in recruiting young talents to bolster the academy.

Everton manager Sean Dyche has also suggested that if the Friedkin Group takes charge of the club before the January transfer window, they may inject cash to buy players.
