FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blue Girls this afternoon.
Payne joins Everton following a spell combining playing football with her studies in the United States. She has most recently turned out for the Florida State Seminoles. Payne has also played for Peamount United and Bristol City in the early days of her senior career.
After completing her move to Everton, Payne said “I’m really excited to become an Everton player. This is a great club and one that has a track record of developing talent.
“I’ve always wanted to come back and play in England. I think it’s one of the best leagues in the world. I’m really glad to have this opportunity to come back and see what I can do. I can’t wait to get going.”
Payne becomes Everton manager Brian Sørensen’s sixth signing of what is turning out to be a very busy transfer window for the Merseyside club. The Blue Girls have also added Martina Piemonte, Emily Ramsey, Emma Bissell, Justine Vanhaevermaet and Karoline Olesen to their squad so far this summer.
