According to The Times’ Paul Joyce, a bid in the region of £16 million has been accepted by the Tigers.

Philogene has become one of the focal points of the transfer window in the last couple of weeks, with the Tractor Boys initially lodging a £35 million double bid for the winger, as well as teammate Jacob Greaves.

The forward joined the Yorkshire outfit last summer in a deal worth £5 million, signing from Aston Villa after a loan spell at Cardiff City.

He contributed 12 goals and six assists from 32 league appearances for Hull last season as they earned a seventh place finish in the table.

Everton have secured an agreement with Hull for Philogene worth in the region of £16 million, as Sean Dyche looks to improve his attacking options for next season.

It is believed that the Toffees are confident that the player is keen on a move to Goodison Park, in favour of Ipswich or Palace - despite his advanced talks with the former.

It was previously reported that all three Premier League clubs had made an offer for the player, and that it was ultimately down to the winger himself to choose his next step.

There is optimism from Everton that they can win the race to his signature ahead of their top flight rivals, but still nothing has been signed and sealed by the Toffees.

It has been claimed that the deal between Ipswich and Hull for Jacob Greaves will not impact the situation surrounding Philogene.

The defender is closing in on a move to Portman Road following an impressive campaign for the Tigers, with a medical scheduled.

These sales will result in a huge windfall for the Championship side, with two of their key players heading for a big money exit this summer, with Tim Walter now in charge of the first team squad.

It has been reported that Hull want to add a number of players to their squad this summer, potentially as many as eight to 10.

However, player sales will likely be needed first in order to raise funds, with Ryan Giles also attracting interest from rivals Middlesbrough despite his permanent move to City only happening recently.

Giles is the only arrival at the MKM Stadium so far this summer, having made his loan move from Luton Town permanent.

Hull have until 30 August to complete any remaining deals, but their first league game of the season will take place as early as 10 August, with a home game against Bristol City.

Jaden Philogene fee is good profit for Hull City after one year

Earning £16 million or so from a player signed for £5 million just 12 months ago is good business for Hull.

While it will come as a blow to Walter’s side, the money raised should help ease the financial burden on the club.

Greaves is also an academy product, meaning his sale will go down as pure profit, so this should allow them to reinvest that money into making signings this summer.
