Everton have sacked manager Rafael Benítez after seven months in charge of the club.
The Toffees have picked just one win in their last 11 games and find themselves just six points above the relegation zone following the 2-1 defeat to Norwich City on Saturday.
The 61-year-old arrived at Goodison Park in July to a mixed atmosphere amongst the club’s fanbase following his previous role as manager of their city rivals Liverpool.
However, the Spaniard made a solid start to life in the dugout picking up 10 points from their first four games.
Everton have won just twice since the end of September in a run of form which has seen them slip down to 15th in the table.
The club have confirmed that an update on a permanent replacement will be made ‘in due course.’
