Everton have confirmed that Marco Silva has left the club following Wednesday’s 5-2 Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool.
Silva has been in charge at Goodison Park for the past 18 months but has struggled to realise the club’s ambitions of European football.
The Toffees have won just four Premier League games all season and dropped into the relegation zone on Wednesday night.
Although there is no news yet on a successor it’s believed that David Moyes is one of the favourites to take over.
The Merseysiders have confirmed that former striker Duncan Ferguson will take charge of Saturday’s clash with Chelsea at Goodison Park.
