After telling Crystal Palace he wants to leave the club earlier in the month, both Arsenal and Everton have lodged interest in Wilfried Zaha.

The Gunners have had a £40m bid knocked back by Palace, which has left the door open for the Toffees to swoop in this summer.

According to the Telegraph, Everton are ‘prepared to pay’ £60m plus struggling striker Cenk Tosun in order to acquire Zaha’s services as they look to break into the top six this season.

Though Palace have valued the Ivorian at £80m, Everton may be able to kill two birds with one stone as the Eagles have previously shown interest in the Turkish international.

The article goes on to state that Everton fear Chelsea could enter the race for Zaha as they currently sit on a mountain of cash following the sales of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata.

It’s believed that the Blues could potentially strike a deal a year in advance and loan him immediately back to Palace in a move similar to what Atlético Madrid did back in 2017 – when they signed Vitolo from Sevilla six months prior to their transfer ban being lifted.

With Palace keen on bringing back Michy Batshuayi after his successful loan spell during the second half of last season, Zaha to Chelsea could be a realistic possibility.
