There is growing uncertainty over the future of Everton manager Rafael Benítez according to The Athletic.
The Toffees find themselves just six points above the relegation zone following the 2-1 defeat to Norwich City on Saturday which has intensified the pressure on the 61-year-old.
Everton have now just won of their last 11 Premier League games and have slipped to 15th in the table.
There were banners calling for the club to take action against Benítez in the away end at Carrow Road and one fan entered the pitch in what appeared to be a protest against the team.
The report by The Athletic states that club sources aren’t expecting the Spaniard to still be in charge by next weekend’s game against Aston Villa while a further report by The Telegraph has described Benítez as ‘being on the brink’ of losing his job.
There has been no comment made by the club at this stage.
