Everton continue to make Premier League history of the wrong sort in the first half of their clash with West Ham United on Saturday.
The Toffees were handed a prime opportunity to take the lead at Goodison Park when Kurt Zouma was judged to have handled the ball inside the penalty area.
However, summer signing Beto stepped up to the spot, and saw his penalty saved by Alphonse Areola to keep the scores level heading into the break.
It meant that the Portuguese striker became the 23rd different player to miss from the spot for the Toffees since the Premier League began in 1992, a stat that moved them one step closer to Arsenal's current all-time record of 24.
Gylfi Sigurdsson remains the main culprit for penalty misses, having failed to convert four times for the Toffees during his time on Merseyside.
Having not been awarded a penalty for almost 12 months before today, Everton fans be hoping they have to wait that long again given their record.
Fortunately however, Beto went onto redeem himself by handing the home side the lead midway through the second half, rising highest to nod home a cross from James Garner.
