Everton are keen on signing young Australian goalkeeper Lachlan Allen after giving him the opportunity to spend time with them, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Though Jordan Pickford is currently Everton’s number one, the Toffees have been constantly making attempts to increase the depth in the goalkeeping department.
They have already signed Mark Travers from Bournemouth, but are keen to add to their youth ranks too.
Young Australian goalkeeper Allen, who is at Western Sydney Wanderers, is an option they are keen on.
The young prospect has been with the Toffees for a week and even played for them in the match against a PFA free agent side.
His performances there were proof of his ability to pit himself against senior players as well.
The plans, though, are to send him to the Everton academy, from where the Toffees will fast-track him to the senior team.
The goalkeeper’s aim is to play in England and the Merseyside club present a good opportunity to do that.
The Toffees have made calculated moves in the transfer market thus far, trying to give David Moyes the squad that he wants.
Their latest signing from Manchester City, Jack Grealish, went above and beyond to secure a loan move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
More fresh faces are expected to be signed by Everton before the transfer window slams shut on 1st September.
