In a recent tweet, Sky Sports’ Max Bielefeld has revealed that Everton are locked in negotiations for Bayern Munich forward Joshua Zirkzee. It is believed that the Toffees are currently in talks with the Bavarian giants to sign the Dutch striker on loan with an obligation to buy him for €10m.

Zirkzee’s Lack Of Game Time At The Allianz Arena This Season

Zirkzee has struggled to earn regular playing minutes for the Munich outfit this season as he has often found himself behind Robert Lewandowski in the Allianz Arena pecking order. The Dutch youngster has made 17 senior appearances for the German club thus far, finding the back of the net on four occasions and securing one assist in the process across all competitions.

The 19-year-old is yet to score for Bayern this season and could benefit from sealing a move away from the Bundesliga either on loan or permanently this month. Goodison Park could be a tempting destination for the teenage striker as he could serve as an ideal understudy to Dominic Calvert-Lewin under the stewardship of a world-class manager like Carlo Ancelotti.

The Dutch prospect has got excellent potential to become a future star in European football, so the Toffees will do well to lure him away from Munich before the winter transfer window slams shut at the start of next month.

What Will The Dutch Youngster Bring To Merseyside?

Standing at 1.93m, Zirkzee is a towering presence inside the opponent’s penalty box. He can use his strength to outmuscle the opposition and win some important headers for his team in the final third. The Dutch whizkid knows how to find the back of the net but needs to find some consistency at the highest level. However, there is no denying that he is still quite raw and would need time to unlock his true potential.

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti needs to add some healthy competition for Calvert-Lewin, so Zirkzee fits the bill perfectly as he has what it takes to rival the English striker or even play alongside him on the offensive end of the field. The Schiedam-born talent is primarily a centre-forward but can also play in a supporting role as a secondary striker if needed. Hence, the Toffees would be wise to get a deal done for him this month as he will also add some physicality and goals to their frontline.

At 19, Zirkzee has plenty of time to develop into a prolific forward at the top level, so Ancelotti might fancy his chances of getting the best out of the player if he ends up securing his services by the end of this month.
