Everton join race to sign Real Valladolid right-back Ivan Fresneda | OneFootball

In the latest Everton news, the club have reportedly joined the race to sign Real Valladolid’s Ivan Fresneda.

The 18-year-old made his senior debut in January at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla after joining the club in 2020.

The talented youngster has made an impressive start to the 2022-23 season, making seven appearances across all competitions.

His performances haven’t gone unnoticed as several top European clubs have been credited with an interest.

According to a report from AS, the Toffees are keen to secure his services while Newcastle United have also been linked.

Fresneda is considered one of the most promising youngsters in European football and the Spanish outfit expect a frantic race for him in January.

Valladolid kept the teenager at the Jose Zorrilla Stadium in the summer transfer window and tied him down to new terms.

His new contract included a €10 million release clause which has now increased to €30m because he has made six first-team appearances.

The fee could increase to €45m if the youngster plays 22 matches for the club.

His suitors reportedly don’t want that to happen and are considering making their moves in January.

Everton should sign the youngster

Fresneda is undoubtedly a huge talent. The right-back has earned 467 minutes in La Liga this season, averaging an impressive 2.5 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 2.8 clearances.

He has also made 1.5 key passes and 1.5 long balls per game in the Spanish top flight while boasting over 80 percent passing accuracy (as per WhoScored).

Everton need quality players, and the youngster fits the bill.
