Aston Villa will have to fend off Everton if they are to land the signature of Galatasaray’s Christian Luyindama.
The DR Congo international has been on Villa’s radar for a while, and could have moved in January had a long-term injury not interfered.
Reports in Turkey earlier this month suggested the 26-year-old favoured a move to Villa Park, despite Galatasaray’s desire to keep him on their books.
However, Voetbalkrant (via Birmingham Live) are now saying that Everton are interested in acquiring the centre-back.
Luyindama initially joined the Turkish side on loan from Standard Liege in January 2019 before the move was made permanent.
Should either Villa or Everton be successful in their pursuit, they are likely to have to pay Galatasaray £11m for Luyindama’s services.
