Everton have told Manchester United that they have no intention of selling central defender Jarrad Branthwaite, according to a report in The Athletic.

That's despite the news that a potential takeover of the Merseyside club by the Roma owners officially fell through this week.

The deal has therefore hit an impasse, as the Blues will only sell if their valuation of £75 million for the 22-year-old is met.

Meanwhile Man Utd will only revive their interest if the price is lowered, the report suggests.

Branthwaite came through the youth system at Carlisle, and signed for the Toffees in 2020. Loans at Blackburn Rovers and PSV followed, but the youngster has since cemented a place in the Everton first team.
