Everton are interested in signing Habib Diarra from Strasbourg, according to L’Équipe. The Merseyside club are pondering their options in midfield and could be set to submit an initial approach for the midfielder in the coming days.
No offer has yet been submitted for the Strasbourg midfielder but the BlueCo-owned club have been clear in their stance on the player’s future. The Alsatian club have been resolute in the belief that the 20-year-old will not be sold during the summer transfer window. Diarra has 4 years remaining on his contract at the Stade de la Meinau meaning the Ligue 1 club has no requirement to sell.
Everton have been tracking Diarra for several months and now could be in a position to act upon their interest. It remains to be seen if the Senegalese international would be interested in the prospect of moving to the Premier League club but his desires could be pivotal in any transfer going through.
