Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford signs new four-and-a-half year contract | OneFootball

Everton have announced that Jordan Pickford has signed a contract extension until 2027.

The England international goalkeeper has agreed to a four-and-a-half deal.

Pickford’s original contract was due to end in 2024, and a couple of the Toffees’ Premier League rivals were monitoring him.

The 28-year-old joined Everton in 2017 after Sunderland were relegated.

The Merseyside club had struggled in the position until they found a perfect option in Pickford.

He immediately established himself as the club’s first-choice goalie, playing in every league game in his first three seasons with the Goodison Park club.

He has made 222 appearances across all competitions and also established himself as England’s number 1.

Pickford earned his first international cap in November 2017 and has made 50 appearances since.

The Everton star helped the Three Lions reach the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

He was also brilliant at the European Championship in 2021. The Toffees man became the first goalie in history to keep clean sheets in the first five games at a single edition.

England reached the final, where they lost to Italy on penalties.

Pickford was named Everton Player of the Season, Everton Players’ Player of the Season and Everton Young Player of the Season in his debut campaign.

He was the club’s Player of the Season last term and also scooped the Premier League Save of the Season award.

Retaining Pickford’s services for four more seasons makes plenty of sense for the Toffees.

He will now look to help keep them up after the club’s struggles this term.
