Everton fans are planning a mass walkout on the 27th minute of Monday night’s game against Arsenal.

Everton fans are not happy.

Sitting in 16th place, some eight points behind Monday night’s opponents, Everton fans are preparing to demonstrate just how angry they are with the decisions being made by the board that they will stage a mass walkout on the 27th minute.

The 27th minute has been chosen as it has been 27 years since Everton last won a trophy and this represents the longest period without a pot in the post-war era.

Everton’s director of football, Marcel Brands, left his role with ‘immediate effect’ on Sunday after three years in the job as he paid the price for some poor recruitment decisions.

Brands apparently never endorsed the arrival of former Liverpool boss, Rafa Benitez, who was given the dreaded vote of confidence from a board led by former Arsenal man, Farad Moshiri, who feels the manager just needs more time.

The protest comes at the end of a number of years of frustration for Everton fans under the rule of Moshiri, who many accuse of overseeing a chaotic period of recruitment that has lacked a cohesive plan.

“When you have a bad run it is the time to stick together,” Benitez said.

“I don’t talk too much about things outside the pitch. I don’t think that helps the team improve.

“I understand the frustrations of the fans. Trust and believe me — we want to win more than anyone.”
