In a recent report, Mondo Udinese mentioned that Everton failed to sign Udinese forward Beto in January. It has been revealed that the Toffees were desperate to land the Portuguese talent last month but failed to do so.

Beto’s Decent Form In Italian Football This Season

Beto has put in a handful of impressive displays as the focal point of Udinese’s attack during this campaign. The 25-year-old has banged in seven goals and grabbed two assists in 22 matches for the Italian club this season across multiple competitions.

The Lisboa-born sensation has led the line well at times by averaging 1.5 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. However, he has lacked quality when linking up play with others around him in the final third, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 64.8% in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).

His current deal at the Italian club is set to run out in the summer of 2026. Thus, it will be far from easy for Everton to land him on the cheap at the end of this season.

Should Everton Boss Sean Dyche Move In For Beto?

Beto is proficient at engineering space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal and can create some decent chances for his teammates on the attacking end of the field. He is also quite clever when making runs in behind the opponent’s backline.

The Portuguese striker is still maturing as a footballer but would have no doubt added more firepower to Everton’s attack. Standing at 1.94m, he can hold possession up well for his team and could have helped the Toffees get out of relegation trouble in the Premier League this season.

However, the Merseyside club failed to land Beto last month, so it makes little sense for them to move in for the Portuguese centre-forward in the future. Beto is not a prolific striker and is still learning to walk the ropes of top-flight football. Furthermore, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football which makes him a risky option for the Toffees to consider next summer.

All in all, Everton head coach Sean Dyche would be better off opting for a more proven forward if he wants the Toffees to have a better season next year. Beto is clearly not going to solve Everton’s offensive problems in the coming seasons.
