The Toffees are set to move into the stadium for the beginning of the 2024-25 season, as per Liverpool World.

Everton are planning to leave their Goodison Park home come the end of the 2023-24 season, with a move to a brand-new stadium planned for the beginning of the following season.

The new stadium has been described as a “catalyst for regeneration, jobs and investment” in Liverpool (via Liverpool World), with the Toffees hoping that the money and revenue earned from the stadium will help build a successful future for the club.

However, as per The Guardian, the club have still not found a financial backer for the stadium with questions being raised as to how the club is going to afford to fund their new home.

But Brown suggests that there could be some updates on the new stadium soon, with “a group” being shown around Bramley-Moore Dock recently.

What has Brown said about Everton and the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium?

Brown told GIVEMESPORT: “The issue of the stadium is a big one, because a complete funding package for that has still not been put in place.

“I understand that some developments might take place over that soon.

“There apparently was a group shown around Bramley-Moore Dock recently, with a view to helping on the stadium finance side of things.

“But there doesn’t seem to be an imminent sale of the club or an investor who is suddenly going to come in and invest, buy shares or buy a stake in the club.”

What next for Everton?

Whilst developments over the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium very much remain a part of Everton’s long-term vision, the Toffees must remain a Premier League club in the build-up to their move to their new home.

Frank Lampard’s side currently sit one point and one place above the relegation zone at the break for the World Cup, having just about survived the drop to the Championship by the skin of their teeth last season.

Farhad Moshiri and the Everton hierarchy may feel that they need to invest in the squad in January to give the club the best possible chance of survival this season, ahead of a huge second half of the season.

Whilst the club will anticipate the new stadium could bring them a brighter future, the club must remain in the Premier League and that must be their immediate focus for the time being.
