Watford have filed an official complaint after Everton’s interest in Marco Silva re-emerged.
Everton are hoping to appoint Silva as they look to replace Sam Allardyce at Goodison Park.
The Portuguese was in charge at Vicarage Road at the start of the season, where he enjoyed a superb start before interest from the Toffees derailed Watford’s form.
The club rejected an official approach from Everton, who had sacked Ronald Koeman back in October, and believe the Portuguese was illegally contacted even though they knocked back Everton’s approach.
An official complaint has been filed by Watford and the clubs are still warring over the topic despite Premier League intervention.
If Silva is named the new boss of Everton the clubs are likely to agree on a compensation package but, if not, Everton could face heavy fines or even a points deduction.
