Everton are concerned that defender Lucas Digne could be ruled out of action for a considerable length of time after suffering an ankle ligament injury.
The Frenchman picked up the knock during training this week.
The club fear that the defender could be sidelined for up to two months with it being revealed he requires surgery on the injury.
Digne will undergo the operation on Monday with more news on how long he could be out of action likely to be revealed at some point late next week.
The former Roma man has made 11 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees so far this season.
