The Toffees have activated a clause to take the Senegal international’s existing deal, previously set to expire this summer, until June 2025.

Captain Séamus Coleman and fellow full-back Ashley Young have also been offered short-term extensions with the Goodison Park club.

But a trio of players are set to leave Merseyside in midfielder André Gomes, backup goalkeeper Andy Lonergan and playmaker Dele Alli.

Dele, who last featured for Everton in May 2022, will remain with the club while he completes rehabilitation from a long-term groin injury.

Everton also confirmed on Friday that season-long loanees Arnaut Danjuma and Jack Harrison are set to return to their parent clubs.

However director of football Kevin Thelwell revealed that talks are ongoing with Leeds United over retaining Harrison’s services.

Dyche’s side travel to Arsenal in their Premier League finale on Sunday, with the hosts looking to pip Manchester City to the title.
