In a recent report, Calciomercato claimed that Everton centre-forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin is on Real Madrid’s radar. It is understood that both Los Blancos and Arsenal are showing interest in acquiring the signature of the Toffees striker.

Calvert-Lewin’s Excellent Form At Goodison Park Recently

Calvert-Lewin has made a positive start to his campaign after missing some of the earlier games because of a fractured toe. The 24-year-old has banged in three goals in three matches for the Merseyside outfit in Premier League football.

The Sheffield-born sensation deserves a pat on the back for averaging 3.7 shots and 1.0 key passes per game in the English top tier. However, he has been a bit careless when linking up play with his teammates in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 66.7% in league football (stats via whoscored).

Calvert-Lewin’s current contract with the Merseyside club is set to run down in the summer of 2025, so Rafael Benitez has no immediate need to sell him. However, with top clubs like Real Madrid and Arsenal hoping to snap him up, the Everton boss will have a battle on his hands to keep the English frontman happy at Goodison Park.

Can Everton Afford To Lose Calvert-Lewin?

Calvert-Lewin has decent pace under his belt and can pull off some energetic dribbles in the final third when he is playing well on the field. He has developed a knack for creating a few inviting openings for others around him but can sometimes give away the ball cheaply which is something he needs to rectify if he wants to become a top goal-getter at the highest level.

The English attacker has transformed himself into a composer finisher in front of the opposition goal. He can even read the game well and is not shy of working hard to stretch the opponent’s defence when his teammates need him the most.

At the moment, Calvert-Lewin is one of the best names in Benitez‘s teamsheet. Therefore, the Toffees simply cannot afford to lose their talismanic striker to a top club in the near future. He remains an integral member of Everton’s match-day squad and could go on to become a legend if he continues to improve under Benitez’s tutelage in the coming seasons.
