“He was a player that they took to the board, so I can definitely see this link being legit and transpiring.”

Gosens’ Difficult Campaign At San Siro

The 28-year-old has endured a tough season in Milan after struggling to earn a regular starting spot on the left side of Inter’s midfield. Still, Gosens has done well to score two goals in 18 appearances for the Italian club this season across all competitions.

The German sensation has seen most of his game time come as a substitute which explains why he is only averaging 0.5 tackles, 0.2 interceptions, 0.3 shots, 0.3 key passes and 0.2 dribbles per game in Serie A. He has been tidy when distributing the ball from the left flank as he has completed 84% of his attempted passes in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).

Should Everton Boss Frank Lampard Bring Gosens To Merseyside?

Gosens is a solid tackler of the ball and can make some timely interceptions for his team when he is getting regular game time on the field. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and can engineer a few decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.

At the moment, the German talent is finding it difficult to secure regular playing opportunities at San Siro. Hence, Everton are in a good position to offer him an escape route if Frank Lampard decides to follow up on his previous interest in the player.

Gosens is an experienced footballer who mainly functions as a left-sided wide player but can also fill in as the left-back if needed. Someone with his experience and versatility would no doubt increase competition for places within Everton‘s match-day squad. Gosens could even help the Merseyside club challenge for a top-half finish over the next few years.

At 28, he is currently entering his prime. However, the German winger could struggle to cope with the physical nature and high intensity of Premier League football every week. Still, Lampard should think about bringing Gosens to Goodison Park when the transfer window commences at the start of next year or at the end of this season.
