In a recent report, Bild (subscription required) claimed that Everton are set to rival Liverpool for Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier. It has been stated that the Toffees are eyeing a move to bring the German sensation to Goodison Park in 2024.

Beier’s Impressive Form In The Bundesliga

Beier is having a promising campaign at the German club after he put in a run of productive displays as the focal point of their attack. The 21-year-old has scored six goals and picked up four assists in 15 matches for Hoffenheim this season across all competitions.

The German sensation has led the line well by averaging 2.4 shots, 0.4 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. However, he has lacked quality when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 69.6% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, the Toffees will have to make a decent offer if they are serious about bring the German striker to the Premier League next year.

Is Beier A Good Option For Everton?

Beier excels at finding space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He is usually quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty box. However, the German talent has to figure out a way to improve his passing in the final third.

We can expect Beier to add some much-needed firepower to Everton boss Sean Dyche’s frontline. He is good enough to challenge Dominic Calvert-Lewin for a regular starting spot at the Merseyside club over the next few years. The Hoffenheim attacker is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a winger if needed.

At 21, Beier has the potential to become a future star at the highest level as long as he continues to improve with each year. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Toffees manage to snap him up this January or at the end of this season.

Everton to pursue in the long run.
