In a recent report on Patreon, journalist Alan Nixon mentioned that Everton are leading the race for Perth Glory starlet James Overy. It has been stated that the Toffees are eyeing a move to recruit the Australian defender in the future.

Overy’s Impressive Rise In Australian Football

Overy has caught the eye with his performances for Perth Glory’s Under-21 side on the defensive end of the field. The Austrian youngster has done well to establish himself as one of the most promising prospect back in his homeland.

The talented teenager managed to impress in a pre-season friendly match against West Ham United last summer. Hence, it is no surprise that Everton are showing interest in acquiring his services in the future.

The 15-year-old has made his way up the youth ranks of Perth Glory but is yet to break out as a first-team starter at the Aussie club.

Everton Are Leading The Race For Overy: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Overy is a solid tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure possession back for his side on the defensive end of the field. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and can make a few energetic runs with the ball on the right flank.

The Austrian prospect can even set up a few decent plays for his teammates in the opponent’s half. However, at 15, he is still quite raw and would need time before he can taste first-team football at the highest level.

Still, there is no denying that Overy is a prospect to watch out for in the future. Hence, the Toffees will do well to get him on board in the not-too-distant future. He will be an excellent acquisition for the Toffees to pull off in the long run. However, Everton boss Sean Dyche will have to patient with Overy’s development before he can unlock the best out of him at Goodison Park.

the Toffees should focus on going all out to win the race for the Perth Glory whizkid when the transfer window commences at the start of January or at the end of this campaign.
