In a recent print edition, La Provence mentioned that Everton are keeping tabs on Olympique Marseille forward Iliman Ndiaye. It has been stated that the Toffees are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Senegalese striker but will face competition from Crystal Palace in pursuit of him.

Ndiaye’s Inconsistent Numbers In French Football This Season

Ndiaye has struggled to be consistent for Marseille in Ligue 1 in terms of his goal-scoring but has caught the eye at times for them in the final third. The France-born talent has taken part in 25 matches for the French outfit this season, scoring just one goal and grabbing three assists on all fronts.

The 23-year-old has proven his worth in the opponent’s half by averaging 1.1 shots, 0.8 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. He has even been tidy when distributing the ball up top after making 82.5% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

Ndiaye’s current deal at Marseille will expire in 2028, so the Toffees won’t find it easy to win the race for him at the end of this season.

Should Everton Boss Sean Dyche Snap Ndiaye Up?

Ndiaye is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He can create some decent openings for others around him on the offensive end of the field. The Senegalese talent can even make a few driving runs with the ball up top. He mainly operates as a centre-forward but can also fill in as an attacking midfielder if needed.

Ndiaye would no doubt enhance the quality of Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s frontline. The Toffees are in dire need of adding more goals to their attack, so recruiting him will help the Merseyside club in the long run.

At 23, Ndiaye has got a lot of room for improvement but has what it takes to rival Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto for a regular starting spot at Goodison Park in the coming years. All in all, Dyche should consider going all out to snap the Marseille forward up when the transfer window reopens at the end of this campaign.
