In a recent report,  Cronache di Salerno stated that Everton are in the race to land Salernitana forward Boulaye Dia. It has been claimed that the Toffees are hoping to acquire the services of the Senegalese talent this month.

Dia’s Good Record In Serie A This Season

Dia is enjoying a good campaign at the Italian club as he was responsible for producing a string of fruitful displays for them in the final third. The France-born sensation has found the back of the net on eight occasions in 28 appearances for Salernitana this season across all fronts.

The Senegalese forward has given a good account of himself up top based on his average of 2.0 shots, 0.6 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even distributed the ball relatively well in the opponent’s half after making 83% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Italian football (stats via whoscored).

Dia’s current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2026. Thus, it won’t be easy for Everton to get a deal done for him in this winter transfer window.

What Will Dia Bring To Everton?

Dia can engineer some space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The Senegalese attacker is primarily a centre-forward but can also operate as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so by his manager. He is an accurate passer of the ball as well.

Dia will undoubtedly bring more firepower to Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s frontline. He would offer some healthy competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto at the Merseyside club in the coming seasons. At 27, Dia is enjoying his prime and is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at Goodison Park. Hence, it makes sense for Dyche to launch a convincing offer for him before the end of this transfer window.

Everton can get a deal over the line for him this January.
