In a recent report, Sabah mentioned that Everton are eager to land Galatasaray defender Davinson Sanchez. It has been stated that the Toffees are eyeing a move to recruit the Colombian centre-back in the summer.

Sanchez has enjoyed a solid campaign at the Turkish club as he has managed to put in a series of decent performances for them on the defensive end of the field. The 27-year-old has scored three goals and grabbed two assists in 31 appearances for Galatasaray this season across multiple competitions.

The Colombian defensive ace has been a rock at the back based on his average of 1.6 tackles, 0.9 interceptions and 1.8 clearances per 90 minutes in the Turkish Super Lig. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from inside his half after making 83.2% of his attempted passes in the Turkish first division (stats via whoscored).

Sanchez’s current contract at Galatasaray will run out in the summer of 2027 which could make it tough for Everton to snap him up on a cut-price deal later this year.

What Will Sanchez Bring To Everton?

Sanchez is a tough-tackling defender who can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when the opposition are on the offensive and excels at playing his way out from the back.

Standing at 1.87m, the Colombian centre-half can be a dominant presence in the air as well when he is playing with confidence on the field. He already knows the Premier League well from his spell at Tottenham Hotspur, so he won’t take much time to settle into life at Goodison Park if Everton manage to get a deal over the line for him in this upcoming transfer window.

At 27, Sanchez is about to enter his prime which makes him a good option for the Merseyside club to pursue later this summer as long as he is available for the right price. He would bring more bite and steel to Everton‘s backline and could help the Toffees across all fronts over the next few years. Therefore, the Premier League side should consider going all out to bring him back to England ahead of the new campaign.
