In a recent report, The Evening Standard mentioned that Everton are among the clubs hoping to land Krasnodar forward Jhon Cordoba. It has been stated that the Toffees could face competition in the form of Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Fulham in the race to sign the Colombian striker.

Cordoba’s Impressive Form In Russian Football

Cordoba has put in a run of impressive displays as the focal point of Krasnodar’s attack during this campaign. He has done well to score 11 goals and pick up four assists in 20 matches for the Russian outfit this season in multiple competitions.

The 30-year-old has led the line well for Krasnodar as he is averaging 2.9 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per game in the Russian Premier League. However, he needs to work on improving his ball distribution up top after he completed just 67.5% of his attempted passes in the Russian top tier (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at Krasnodar will expire in the summer of 2025. Hence, the Toffees would have to make a good offer if they want to sign him this January.

Is Cordoba A Good Fit For Everton Boss Sean Dyche?

Cordoba can engineer a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in on-target. He has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third and is usually quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty box. Standing at 1.88m, the Colombian talent can be a towering presence in the final third. However, he has to find a way to improve his link-up play up top.

We can expect Cordoba to bring more firepower to Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the Merseyside club and could help the Toffees steer clear of the Premier League’s relegation zone this season.

Thus, Dyche should think about getting the Krasnodar star on board before the end of this winter transfer window as he will be a good fit for Everton‘s needs at the moment. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life at Merseyside.
