Everton have officially announced the appointment of Frank Lampard as the club’s new manager on Sunday.
The 43-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Goodison Park following the sacking of Rafael Benítez earlier in January.
Lampard makes his return to the Premier League after previously managing Chelsea just over a year ago.
Since being sacked by the Blues he has been out of work until now, reportedly beating the likes of Wayne Rooney and Vítor Pereira for the Merseyside job.
“Everton is a unique club in that you can really understand what the fans want to see,” Lampard said.
“The first thing they want is fight and desire and that must always be our baseline. My first message to the players will be that we have to do this together.”
Everton currently sit 16th in the league table and will face Brentford in the FA Cup on 5 February in their next match.
