FC Nantes, as reported by Ouest-France are considering a shock attempt to bring Sergio Conceição back to the club. The Portuguese manager is in demand following his departure from FC Porto, with options potentially popping up in the Premier League, according to L’Équipe.
As revealed by Get French Football News, Antoine Kombouaré would have been sacked had Nantes lost against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday. As it is, Kombouaré remains in his post, however, there is still considerable pressure on him, given Les Canaris’ standing second-bottom of Ligue 1.
It is within this context that Ouest-France understands that talks between Conceição and Nantes have been ongoing for around a week, although L’Équipe denies that this is the case.
However, there is competition for Conceição’s signature, and from much wealthier clubs. Everton and West Ham United are both interested in acquiring the Portuguese manager’s services, with the latter being favoured by the man in question.
