In a recent report, Tuttomercatoweb has mentioned that Everton are among several clubs hoping to land Bayern Munich forward Joshua Zirkzee, who is currently playing on loan at Parma. It is believed that the Toffees could face competition from Paris Saint-Germain, AS Roma, Juventus and AC Milan but now have a great chance of recruiting him after the Dutch striker got relegated from Serie A with Parma recently (via Tuttomercatoweb).

Zirkzee’s Injury Ravaged Season At Ennio Tardini Stadium

Zirkzee has endured an underwhelming loan spell at Parma where he has missed a lot of games because of multiple injuries. The Dutch sensation has featured in four senior matches for the Italian giants this term but is yet to score or assist a goal for them so far.

Most of the 19-year-old’s appearances have come off the bench which explains why he is averaging 0.3 shots, 0.3 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in Serie A this season. The talented youngster also needs to work on improving his accuracy when distributing the ball after completing 61.8% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).

Despite his recent injury concerns, Zirkzee has shown some glimpses of his true potential, so the Toffees will do well to lure him to Goodison Park when the transfer window commences later this year. He could serve as a decent back-up to Dominic Calvert-Lewin until he is ready to compete with the English striker for a regular place in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI.

Is Zirkzee A Prospect For The Future?

Zirkzee is a moderately paced striker who can time his run well when trying to get in behind the opponent’s backline. Standing at 1.93m, he is a towering presence inside the opposition penalty area and can use his strength well to get the better of his marker in the final third.

Thus, there is no denying that Zirkzee will be a prospect to watch out for in the future, so it would be a massive coup for Ancelotti if he can get him on board this summer. The Dutch whizkid will bolster Everton’s attacking options ahead of the new season. He will add some healthy competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and would also serve as a decent long-term signing for them this summer.

With all things considered, Zirkzee is a star in the making and could be nurtured into a top talent by Ancelotti if the youngster can steer clear of injuries and focus on getting better on the training field. Plus, he would help fill the void left by Moise Kean’s exit if the Toffees decide to part ways with the Italian striker, who is currently playing on loan at Paris Saint-Germain in this off-season.
