Everton: £50k-a-week star could be the new Dave Watson at Goodison Park
The English centre-back is out of contract in the summer, giving Frank Lampard a great opportunity to snap him up from Burnley.
How has Tarkowski’s career at Turf Moor been?
If Tarkowski calls it quits at Burnley at the end of the season, which it looks like he will, the 29-year-old will look back at his career there with much pride.
He has spent six seasons in the Premier League with the Clarets, making almost 200 top-flight appearances for the club, and has helped keep them in the division up until this point.
Given his contract situation and where Burnley currently are in the league, though, a seventh campaign now looks highly unlikely.
If he is to leave, one possible destination could be Everton, with Football Insider claiming that the Merseyside outfit have made him a target.

What has Palmer said about Tarkowski to Everton?
Palmer believes Everton signing Tarkowski would be a good move, comparing the 6 ft 1 England international to the club’s former centre-half Watson.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the ex-Leeds United and Southampton player said: “He’d be typical of the centre-halves that have been there, you know, big Dave Watson in the past and the good centre-halves they’ve had at Everton.
“They do need to strengthen. The recruitment at the club’s been poor over the years, and they need to get that part of it right. They need to get that part of it right for Frank.”
Could it be one in, one out at Everton this summer?
The arrival of Tarkowski could pave the way for Ben Godfrey to leave, with the 24-year-old recently being linked with a move to Tottenham.
According to The Telegraph, Spurs are eyeing Godfrey, as well as his Everton team-mates Richarlison and Anthony Gordon.

From an Everton perspective, though, hopefully Tarkowski would be coming in to play alongside Godfrey rather than replace him. With one of the worst defensive records in the league, Everton’s backline needs strengthening.
However, landing the £50,000-a-week star could depend on what division they are playing in next season. Tarkowski is in his prime years as a defender, so it is hard to imagine him wanting to step back down to the Championship at this stage of his career.
Whatever the case, his time at Turf Moor looks to be coming to an end in a blow to the Clarets.
