Europe’s most wanted Erling Haaland won’t wait for dream move

The young Norwegian goalscoring machine is Europe’s most wanted in the transfer window this summer.

While Manchester United have been linked with a move for Erling Haaland, the Borussia Dortmund striker is going to demand savage money (transfer fee + wages) and I really don’t think he will be rocking up at Old Trafford anytime soon.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Haaland is the striker target United want to prioritise this summer.

Haaland, 20, has scored 33 goals in 35 games for BVB this season – only Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski has more in the Bundesliga.

Questions are bound to be asked when BVB look unlikely to qualify for next season’s Champions League, and I think everyone will miss Haaland’s presence in the competition as much as he would himself.

“Haaland, this newspaper has learned, wants to play for Real Madrid,” claim AS (h/t The Peoples Person).

“But it is very possible that the timing will not help him.

“According to [our] sources, the player will surely look for a way out this summer if he cannot play the Champions League next season.

“This hasty move… would drive him away from Real Madrid.

“Los Blancos were to sign him later (in 2022) at a reasonable price [but] at the moment… Madrid are focused on Operation Mbappe, following the roadmap set months ago.

“These latest events, and becoming aware that his dream of wearing the Real Madrid white has been complicated, have destabilized Haaland. Hence, in several games in recent days he has shown his discontent with a spectacular gesture … Haaland is going through the biggest scoring drought of his short career: seven games without scoring.”

AS add that Man City are favourites to land Haaland, which is a scary prospect but one we almost expect since they’re losing Sergio Aguero.

The Madrid-based newspaper just wants to let everyone know Haaland still dreams of Madrid…
